The Purchasing Department of Joint School District # 2 encourages open and impartial competition in its public contracting.
To accomplish this, the department:
- Contacts Vendors directly
- Advertises bids in the local newspaper
- Makes bid information available on our website
- Utilizes an internet based bid notification service
- Allows vendors to visit our offices to inquire about current solicitations
Bids are separated into two basic categories, Public Works and Personal Property.
PUBLIC WORKS bids are those which entail construction, maintenance and repair of real property. These are governed by Title 67-2805 Idaho Code. Plans, specifications, and submittal documents may be obtained from the Architect or Construction Manager and are made available for inspection at various plan rooms as listed in the "Advertisement for Bids" which is published in the local newspaper as well as the district web site.
PERSONAL PROPERTY bids are advertised in the local newspaper and the "Ad for Bid" is also posted to the district web site. There you will also find the "Invitation to Bid", instructions and forms necessary for submittal, and any addenda. Bid results will be posted for sixty 60 days following board approval.
